Measurement of multiple parts and features using a single program.

Using Taylor Hobson's Metrology 4.0 software with variables, multiple parts and multiple features can be measured using a single program, significantly reducing the amount of time and effort required to write and maintain measurement programs.

Metrology 4.0 programs use variables in order to create fewer, more advanced programs. This makes it ideal when there are multiple parts or features of similar design. One of the biggest advantages is that it allows multiple part types to be measured with only one program. Only one program needs to be to written and maintained! This is particularly useful where many parts have similar designs or similar features. Any input can be defined as a variable, ranging from a measurement length to an analysis tolerance. In environments where there are multiple parts of different sizes, Metrology 4.0 variable programming simplifies the whole process.

In the Application note we show the typical steps used in Metrology 4.0 variable programming, with examples using inputs from Barcode Readers and simple text files. We also show how a sample type can be automatically detected and its specific design details and uploaded by Metrology 4.0 software for automated measurement and analysis.
