China's National Measurement Engineering Technical Committee Visits Taylor Hobson in Shanghai

Taylor Hobson host Open Day for new facility & products - Representatives from metrology institutes throughout China visited Taylor Hobson's new facility in Shanghai - including deligates from China's National Institute of Metrology (NIM) in Beijing.

Taylor Hobson was pleased to demonstrate the capabilities of its latest products along with its long history of applications and calibration know-how. New products on show included the new Talysurf CCI SunStar and PGI 3D Optics systems

The Visit

Kevin Zeng (General Manager, China) introduced Taylor Hobson and followed this with a tour of its new facility in Shanghai. Richard Smith (Centre of Excellence Manager, China) and Wang Jin (Sales Manager) demonstrated Taylor Hobson's products and metrology expertise, with an emphasis on calibration equipment and methodology.

Representatives from key metrology institutes throughout China viewed demonstrations of Taylor Hobson's range of products, applications and calibration methods. New products included the Talysurf CCI SunStar and PGI 3D Optics system.

New Products

The new Talysurf CCI SunStar merges world leading non-contact dimensional measurement capability with advanced thin and thick film technology. The TalySurf CCI SunStar is an advanced 3-dimensional non-contact optical metrology tool used for advanced surface characterisation. These instruments have the ability to offer a true topographical representation of a surface with 0.01 nm Z-resolution over a full scan range, with 4,000,000 data points.

The new Form Talysurf PGI 3D Optics System is a dedicated metrology instrument, ideal for the precision 3D form measurement of a comprehensive range of lenses, moulds and other spherical or aspheric products. The system provides complete characterization of samples which are either shallow or steep-sided, large or small.

Other new products available from Taylor Hobson include the TalyMaster, recently launched at the CIMES 2010 exhibition in Beijing. TalyMaster is a brand new inspection concept for the automated measurement of Roughness, Roundness and Contour on a single platform, utilising 5 axes of motion. TalyMaster brings a fully enclosed measurement cell to the point of manufacture and has a simplified interface for fast set up with minimised part handling.
